How Proud We Are

Wyoming is a state of many firsts...the first National park, the first National forest, the first National monument, even the very first high school football game played at night under lights!

In 2020, we celebrated the 150th anniversary of another Wyoming first—the 1890 vote cast by Louisa Swain in Laramie, WY as the first woman voter in a general election.

A semi truck commemorating this moment was sent across country from the U.S. Capitol to Wyoming, stopping along the way at other significant locations.

The truck was piloted by four professional women drivers and arrived in Laramie for the September 6, 2020 re-enactment of Louisa’s historic vote.

How proud we were!
